White gold, platinum and silver: do not judge by colour
Understand White gold, Platinum, 750, Pt950 and 925 before buying a white-metal piece.

White gold is a gold alloy; platinum is a different metal. Both can look white, and the Thai name “ทองคำขาว” is sometimes used for different materials. Ask for the exact material and purity before comparing prices.
White gold is a gold alloy
18K white gold contains 75% gold. Some pieces are rhodium-plated for a bright white finish. As that coating wears, the surface appearance may change; ask the seller what maintenance the piece needs.
Platinum is a different metal
Platinum is not white gold. Pt950 indicates 950 parts platinum per thousand, subject to verification of the mark and material. Gold quotations cannot simply be substituted for platinum prices.
Silver and plated pieces can also look white
Sterling silver marked 925 indicates 92.5% silver. Plated jewellery can have a different base metal. White gold, platinum and sterling silver are not interchangeable descriptions.
Choose and care for the piece
Try the weight and fit, and ask about resizing, polishing or replating. If you have reacted to jewellery before, check the alloy content too: no material suits every person or resists every scratch. Ask the branch about pawn eligibility for the actual item. Understand gold purity · Ask your branch.
