A checklist for buying pre-owned gold jewellery
What to ask about purity, weight, condition, documents and re-pawning before paying for a used gold piece.

Money OK archive photograph, not a current stock listing.
Buying pre-owned gold starts with understanding the actual item—not just its colour or a lower-looking price. Ask what material, weight, workmanship and condition the price represents.
Confirm material and weight
Ask about purity and any stones or other components. A hallmark or colour alone is not enough to confirm everything. Market quotations provide context, not the final price of every jewellery design. Understand gold karats.
Inspect the parts you will use
Check clasps, links, bends, repairs and edges against the skin. Try the fit. Confirm whether resizing or repair is possible, its cost and who will perform it. Not every design can be altered.
Get item-specific purchase information
Check the final price, item details, known flaws, documents and any agreed return, exchange or repair conditions. Ask for clarification before paying if paperwork differs from the conversation.
Understand re-pawning
Money OK can consider eligible jewellery for re-pawning after inspection under the conditions then applicable. This is not a promise to buy it back at the original price or preserve its value. See jewellery information · Read about re-pawning.
